SIOP provides many awards and programs to support paediatric oncologists in all stages of their careers and to honour those who have helped to advance the field of paediatric oncology.


Schweisguth Prize

Named after well-known oncologists involved in SIOP, these prizes are prestigious international awards competitively won for the best scientific contribution.

SIOP Awards

The Scientific Committee selects the six highest scoring abstracts in the fields of basic and translational science, clinical trials and developing paediatric oncology programmes to be presented in the SIOP Awards Session.

Fasanelli, Nöllenburg & D’Angio Prizes

The Nöllenburg Prize is awarded to the best bone tumour abstract and the Fasanelli Prize is awarded to the best paper on Ewings tumour.

SIOP Scholarships

Each year, SIOP awards scholarships to the best abstracts submitted for the congress to enable young investigators from developing countries to join the congress.

Successful candidates will receive financial support towards their travel and accommodation and free registration.

Young Investigator Awards

These awards are designed to give young investigators, working in the field of paediatric oncology, the opportunity to present their original research at the SIOP Annual Meeting. Successful candidates will receive financial support towards their travel and accommodation, reduced registration fee at the early, residents/ fellows’ rate, even after the deadline. In addition, award recipients will have the opportunity to participate in a dedicated Young Investigator Session and be part of the SIOP YI-NET working group.
